Child Development

Who?  How?  When?  What?  These questions are answered in this semester class.  Students will begin to understand the various stages of parenting and child development, from birth to teenage years.  Students will delve into how parenting and children can be affected by personality changes, death, divorce, poor choices and consequences.  Students will look at today’s job market and have the option to have a preschool lab for young children.  Students considering the following careers would benefit from this course as a great foundational piece:  Counseling and Mental Health Services, Early Childhood Development, Nursing, Physician, Physical Therapy, Behavioral Health, Personal Care Services, Family and Community Services, Social Work, Clinical Counseling, School Psychology, Interpreter and Teachers of all year levels.
