QUESTIONS  from a vendor: on 12-11-25 concerning Fiber/cabling project:

1 - Is the bid request for dark fiber, lit, or both?
2 - Are they requiring us to order the Commscope panel? In that panel, are they wanting Ultra-polished or Angle-Polished SC Fiber Connectors?
4 - We need to know whether they need Plenum or Dielectric Fiber?

ANSWERS:

1 -  Both.  eRate makes us consider both proposal options. (So we will consider owned and leased options.)
2 -  Yes, the CommScope cabinet does need to be a part of the bid.  We are Ultra-polished.
3 -  It needs to be a Commscope D-012-LN-8W-F12NS, 12 Fiber, OS2, All-Dielectric fiber cable or equivalent.

QUESTIONS  from a vendor: on 12-18-25 concerning wireless eRate project:

  1. Do you require a propagation map of the new wireless solution showing Wi-Fi 6 coverage/or stated performance?
  2. Do you have floor maps you can provide where APs will be positioned in each room or space?
  3. In going to Wi-Fi 7, do you have PoE switches in place that can offer more than 40W of PoE if needed for the new access points, no matter what brand?
  4. Is there cat6A in place for helping with power requirements and throughput for the Wi-Fi 7 APs?  Cat6 only works if the run is less than 100 feet in total.  Otherwise cabling needs to be Cat6a to offer Proper PoE for the new APs.
  5. Are you allowing or prefer vendors to schedule a walkthrough to understand better the environment for Wi-Fi 7 coverage?

ANSWERS:

1 - Not required, but can be a part of a vendor's proposal.

2-  They are not required as part of the proposal, but are available upon request.

3 -  Yes, switching will support the required POE.

4.  In some buildings, but not all.  We will not

5.  Vendors can schedule a walkthrough at any time during the time as advertised in the RFP.
