NORRIS MIDDLE SCHOOL BULLETIN

The NMS track & field team represented well at the Elkhorn Middle School Invite on Friday. The boys team placed 2nd overall with 106 points. The team race went down to the wire in the boys 4x400 as Waverly narrowly escaped with the team championship 111-106. The boys placed in every event they competed in. The girls finished 5th overall with 70 points. The kids competed hard and did an excellent job supporting and cheering each other on during the meet, despite the 40 degree temps and gusty winds!

HAL:  Time to start the trials!!!  Wednesday is the 7 & 8 trial.  Thursday is the 6th Trial All students involved with Mock trial should attend HAL everyday this week.

Crochet Club 4th quarter project- Macrame plant hanger

Starting in the 4th quarter, the crochet club will be making macrame plant hangers. This can be done with many types of string or yarn, so you don’t have to use the recommended material if they are unavailable to you. We will begin March 16th. This is a great project for Mother’s Day!

Materials:

  1. Macrame cord (3mm or 4 mm) or cotton yarn (it shouldn’t stretch too much or plants will slip through) plan for using at least 4-5 m’ of cord since the knots will use up most of the cord. Here is one option at Michaels

  2. Macrame ring- I will have wooden rings available on first come first serve basis, otherwise this is an optional piece

  3. Optional accessories: wooden or plastic beads (make sure the hole is large enough to fit the cord or yarn

If you are missing any valuable items such as Eyeglasses, jewelry, IPods, headphones, or Cellphones the office is always a good place to check.

For example - we have a wallet from Friday Night
