Forensic Science
Forensic Science introduces students to the scientific skills and concepts used in crime scene investigation. Students will develop their observation, analysis, and critical-thinking skills while exploring how science helps solve real-world cases. Throughout the course, students will apply ideas from physics, chemistry, biology, and anatomy to understand how evidence is collected and interpreted.
Topics include the history of forensic science, crime scene procedures, fiber and hair analysis, DNA profiling, blood evidence, death and decomposition, autopsies, toxicology, and ballistics.
The course is organized into 3 units that include clear instruction, hands-on practice, and a unit exam. A variety of activities and labs are used to keep students engaged and help them strengthen their understanding of forensic science.
