Hello!  I am Mrs Dani Sobotka and I started with the Norris School District in 2021.  I am very excited to be serving the Norris students as their Counselor as well as working with the Norris staff, parents and community.  I also have the privilege of being an assistant coach for our awesome softball program here at Norris.  Previously, I was a Middle School Counselor at Irving Middle School in Lincoln for 4 years.  And before that, I was a High School Spanish teacher down the road at Freeman Public Schools where I was also the Head Volleyball Coach for 6 years.  

I am originally from Adams, NE where I was involved in anything and everything.  I attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Ne, and competed for the Volleyball team.  I earned my degree in Spanish, studying in Queretaro, Mexico for extra credit hours.  I was a Learning & Development Specialist for State Farm Insurance Compan for almost 10 years prior to going back to school to become a teacher.  I earned my Master's of Curriculum and Instruction Degree from DOANE University in 2012 and my Master's of Counseling Degree from DOANE University in 2020.

You might have seen me around Norris for many years as my children have attended Norris since Kindergarten.  My oldest, Delaney, graduated from Norris in 2022 and is majoring in Nursing and member of the University of South Dakota softball team.  #GoYotes!  And my youngest, Logan, is a junior and plays football and baseball.  My husband, Matt, has two kiddos who joined the Norris family in 2021.  Morgan is a junior and a member of the softball team and Mason is an 9th grader and a member of the Norris trap team.

I am super excited to be a part of Norris as a counselor!  Go Titans!
