Save the Date: Parent-Teacher Conferences are Coming!

Parent-teacher conferences are one of the most effective ways to support your child’s learning. It’s a dedicated time to partner with teachers, celebrate progress, and tackle any challenges together.

📅 SAVE THE DATE

  • When: 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday & Thursday, September 22nd and 24th

  • Where: Norris Elementary, Intermediate, Middle, and High Schools!

  • Sign-Up Info: Elementary/Intermediate = with your child's homeroom teacher. Middle/High = no sign-up needed! Come and go both nights!

Why You Should Attend

  • Build a strong partnership: Connecting face-to-face (or screen-to-screen) ensures home and school are on the same page to support your child.

  • Get a complete picture: Go beyond report cards to learn about your child’s social growth, classroom behavior, and daily habits.

  • Catch challenges early: Spot academic or personal friction points early so a support plan can be put in place right away.

Tips & Tricks to Get the Most Out of Your Meeting

Before the Conference

  • Check in with your child: Ask what subjects they enjoy most, where they feel stuck, and if there's anything they want you to bring up with their teacher.

  • Jot down 2–3 key questions: Time goes fast! Prioritize what matters most—like reading progress, social connections, or work habits.

During the Conference

  • Share insights about home: Let the teacher know about recent life changes, preferred learning styles, or hobbies that motivate your child.

  • Focus on actionable solutions: If a challenge comes up, ask, "What can we do at home to support this?" to keep the focus on teamwork.

  • Ask for clarification: Education jargon can be confusing—don't hesitate to ask what specific test scores, levels, or programs actually mean.

After the Conference

  • Loop in your child: Share the positive feedback you heard and explain any next steps or goals you and the teacher agreed on.

We can't wait to see you in a few weeks! Thank you for partnering with us on your child's education!
