Norris TeamMates mentors honored

Over thirty Norris TeamMates mentors and board were honored at an appreciation luncheon at the Norris Middle School. Each person received a 100 Grand cand bar with a note, “Your service is worth 100 grand, we sure are grateful you gave us a hand”. Mentors shared what mentoring means to them and activities ideas.  It is heartwarming to hear about the special experiences that the mentors shared of their time with their mentees. While mentees really enjoy the opportunity to have an adult spending time with them one-to-one, a common theme is that mentors feel they get more out of mentoring than mentees. Mary Ann Franken, Teammates coordinator, along with Jamie Kerns, Deb Petsche, and Tarah Greenfield helped arranged the celebration. Meeting with students does make a difference for each student. We are always looking for new mentors. If you would like more information about mentoring, contact Mary Ann Franken at the Norris Intermediate School office or go to TeamMates.org.
