Nebraska Bank Donates $150,000 to Norris Titan Activities Complex
HICKMAN, NE — Nebraska Bank has announced a major gift of $150,000 to support the development of the Titan Activities Complex (TAC), a multi-phase athletic facility project spearheaded by the Norris Educational Foundation in partnership with Norris School District 160. This generous contribution is one of the largest single donations in the 136-year history of the nine-location, Nebraska Bank, underscoring the institution’s deep commitment to education, youth opportunity, and community growth.
Launched in August 2024, the fundraising campaign for the TAC aims to raise $1.5 million to fund critical upgrades and additions to Norris athletic facilities. Planned improvements include a new baseball field, four tennis courts, and a concession building with expanded amenities and updated equipment. Once complete, the complex will not only enhance the experience for Norris student-athletes, but also serve the broader community — a region that has long needed a local venue for practices and competitions.
“Our Nebraska Bank team expanded to Hickman just six short years ago,” said Steve Stull, CEO of Nebraska Bank. “Since then, we've worked hard to become a trusted part of this community by providing outstanding banking services and building strong local relationships. We’re proud to invest in a project that supports student growth, strengthens community ties, and adds value for generations to come.”
Dr. Derrick Joel, Superintendent of Norris School District, shares his appreciation. “Norris School District is immensely grateful to Nebraska Bank for their generous donation in support of the Titan Activity Complex. Their commitment further enhances our ability to provide a safe and positive environment for students both academically and extracurricularly.”
Construction on the TAC began as soon as early contributions and grant funds became available. The baseball field and tennis courts have already been completed, while work remains for walkways, concession areas, and expanded parking. Fundraising efforts are ongoing and set to conclude by the end of 2025.
Leading the fundraising team, Norris High School Assistant Principal and Activities Director, Dr. Mitchell Stine shares, “We are incredibly grateful for the support provided by Nebraska Bank and so many others in the Norris community. Through a coordinated fundraising process led by dedicated community volunteers, we have already added enhancements to the complex, including a Batter's Eye, Baseball Scoreboard, Dugout and Backstop Padding, and Norris Branded Windscreens for the Tennis Courts and Baseball Field. The project has already been a game changer for our coaches and student-athletes.”
Development efforts continue in full swing, with less than $200,000 needed to reach the next major milestone for the Norris Titan Activities Complex. Individuals, families, and businesses are invited to be part of this exciting journey through various donation opportunities. The Personalized Brick Campaign will close on December 5, and all fundraising efforts are set to conclude by December 31, 2025.
