Hello!  I am Mrs Dani Sobotka and I started with the Norris School District in 2021.  I am very excited to be serving the Norris students as their Counselor as well as working with the Norris staff, parents, and community. I was an Assistant Varsity Sofbtall coach for 5 years and am now trying something new -  7th-grade volleyball!  I am really excited to work with our middle school girls in this capacity.  Previously, I was a Middle School Counselor at Irving Middle School in Lincoln for 4 years.  And before that, I was a High School Spanish teacher down the road at Freeman Public Schools, where I was also the Head Volleyball Coach for 6 years.  

I am originally from Adams, NE where I was involved in anything and everything.  I attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and played volleyball. I earned my degree in Spanish, studying in Queretaro, Mexico, for extra credit hours.  I was a Learning & Development Specialist for State Farm Insurance Company for almost 10 years prior to going back to school to become a teacher.  I earned my Master's of Curriculum and Instruction Degree from DOANE University in 2012 and my Master's of Counseling Degree from DOANE University in 2020.

You might have seen me around Norris for many years, as my children have attended Norris since Kindergarten.  My oldest, Delaney, graduated from Norris in 2022.  She is majoring in Nursing and is a member of the University of South Dakota softball team.  #GoYotes!  And my youngest, Logan, graduated from Norris last year.  He is attending Doane University and playing on the baseball team.  #GoTigers!  My husband, Matt, has two kiddos who joined the Norris family in 2021.  Morgan graduated last year and is attending UNL in the Business Honors Program, and Mason is an 11th grader and a member of the Norris trap team, where he is a 2x State Champion.

I love being a part of Norris as a counselor!  Go Titans!
