NORRIS MIDDLE SCHOOL BULLETIN

Tuesday, March 1st (B Day)

 

Middle School Track Meeting this Wednesday, March 2, during WIN. All Students planning to participate in the Middle School track this spring should check in with their WIN Teachers First and then Report to the Middle School Gym, South Stands for a Track Meeting. 

 

High School Cheer Meeting, Thursday, March 3 During WIN in the Middle School Band Room. 8th-Grade Students interested in trying out for the Norris Cheer team next year should check-in with their WIN teachers first, and then report to the Band Room ASAP for an informational meeting about The High School Cheer Team. 

 

6th, 7th, 8th Grade Choir Concert - March 24, 2022 at 7PM.  This concert may take place in the HS South Gym or HS Auditorium.

 

CONGRATULATIONS, SHREK JR.CAST AND CHORUS MEMBERS!  

The 7th and 8th Grade Musical, Shrek Jr., cast and chorus list is above!  Just a reminder that the 8th grade choir has all the parts and the 7th grade choir is the musical chorus (7th grade choir will wear their choir t-shirts for the performances).  8th Grade Choir members will need to rent a Shrek Jr. costume.  We will be getting costumes from Springfield, MO, and from Omaha, NE.  Costume rental is $60 per person.  You may make checks payable to Norris and may send them anytime.  Please have your student give checks to us in choir.  As always, please email wes.hansmeyer@nsdtitans.org if you need any financial assistance.  We are glad to help.  

 

Shrek Jr. Performances are May 13, 2022 at 2:00 PM (matinee) and 7:00 PM.

Tickets will be $10.  We will let you know when they will be on sale.  

DRESS REHEARSAL INFO:  On May 12, 2022, we will be having an important dress rehearsal for all 7th and 8th grade choir members.  This will begin during the last period of the day and finish by 6:30 PM.  

 

Colorguard  Clinic Registration Sheets are available in the office and the Library. They need to be returned by March 18.  Clinic March 21-25 after school 

 

If you are missing any valuable items such as Eyeglasses, jewelry, IPods, headphones, or Cellphones the office is always a good place to check.

Calling all future leaders!Make an impact as a mentor and role model as you explore hands-on STEM adventures at Camp Invention. Build friendships, confidence, and leadership skills that prepare you for high school, while gaining hands-on experience working with children and STEM activities. Pricing starts at $145/week. For students entering 7th-9th grade.

Chromebook charging tip: Sometimes your chromebook is in a sleep mode and is not charging, even when plugged in. Check to see that the small red light beside the charger is lit when plugged in. If not, open and hold the refresh button and power button together, then release to reset the chromebook.  Then, plug the unit in and the red light should appear indicating it is charging. You should always see the red light on either side near the back lit when charging.

 

Middle School College Savings Scholarship

Students who complete theEducationQuest Middle School College Savings Scholarship activity will be eligible to register for one of five $200 scholarships.

 

EducationQuest will randomly select one student winner on October 31, December 31, and February 28; two students will be selected on April 30.

To be eligible, a student must:

  • be a U.S. citizen or legal resident

  • be a middle school student attending a Nebraska school

  • complete and mail the scholarship entry form to EducationQuest between September 1 and April 30

EducationQuest will deposit the $200 scholarships into the winners’NEST 529 College Savings Plan account. Winners who do not have an account will need to set one up.
