Norris Intermediate is Going Red for Heart Health!

Norris Intermediate Students and Staff are going red on Friday, February 7th as part of the American Heart Association's' National Go Red for Heart Awareness Day.  Students will be fundraising for the AHA through the Jump Rope for Heart Program from January 16th-February 7th.  During PE classes, all students will be learning about how their heart works and how to keep it healthy with diet and exercise.  During the week of February 10th, students will participate in a jump rope obstacle course and a variety of jump rope competitions.

Our school goal is to raise $3000 for the American Heart Association.  The class who raises the most money will earn an extra Free Choice PE class. Any classes with 100% participation will receive a red, heart healthy snack with Mrs. Wesch.  The students will also compete in a jump rope competition with the winners (one from each grade level) becoming the PE teacher for a day!

We will be selling "GET FIRED UP" t-shirt from January 7th - 13th.  The cost is $10 and the sizes are Adult S, M, L, XL, XXL, and XXXL.  Contact Missy Wesch (melissa.wesch@nsdtitans.org) for more information or to order a shirt.

Norris Student Council is selling shirts each day at school.  All $10 is a donation - and for that donation, you get a shirt!!!  StuCo is also selling bracelets -  $3 each.  Heard disease is still the #1 reason for death in the United States.  Can it be prevented?  Sometimes.  Can we do something to help the cause?  YES!  Contribute $10 or $3 to the AHA through Norris StuCo and YOU can help those affected by this disease.

February 7th, WEAR RED!  Show up at the Norris girls and boys basketball games and wear red OR buy a shirt which says, "ROCK the RED"  from StuCo that night.  Wearing red SUPPORTS those who have been affected by heart disease.

For information about shirts, bracelets or supporting our cause, please contact StuCo sponsor Jane Hansmeyer or chairperson for this event, High School student Sydney Scow.
