The Norris Foundation golf tournament produced a record turnout of 31 teams or over 120 golfers for the 2016 tournament June 27th at the beautiful Yankee Hill Country Club course in south Lincoln. The district and Education Foundation express their appreciation to Committee Chair Larry Grosshans on another stellar fundraising event as thousands were raised to support the Foundation’s initiatives offering post-secondary scholarships and classroom grants for teachers. A delicious catered lunch of pulled pork was provided by Dickey’s Barbecue and a dinner and awards reception followed the golf outing.

The winning teams were as follows:

First Flight: Derek and Beau Heiss, Adam Randall and Jason Roche with a score of 56. Second place to Chris Livingston, Matt Duchek, and the father-son team of Dave and Ben Lueders also with a 56.

Second Flight: Two teams notched scores of 63, including Lee, Tom, Carson and Logan Thurber, another father-son squad that suggests the future of Norris boys golf is in good hands! The other team racking up a stellar 63 was a team representing corporate sponsor and major district donor Hausmann Construction, comprised of Matt Schendt, Stan Beeder, Jared Bemis, and Jesse Volpp.

Third Flight: Two teams clocked scores of 66, including Justin Mueller, Brad Hogan, Arend Wolzen, and Chad Gustin. Their outstanding outing was matched by the team of Mitch Holt, Shawn Wederquist, Tom King, and Jack Abel, who also turned in a 66.
