Norris varsity baseball vs. Ralston, 4-13-2010The Ralston Rams came to Hickman Field to take on Norris on Tuesday, April 13 at 5 pm. The Rams would go on to defeat the Titans 15-3.Norris starting pitcher, Evan Ehmen, getting his second start of the season started well getting the Rams 1-2-3 in the first inning. But Ralston would score two runs in the second to take the lead, Ralston got one single and a Titan error help score the runs.The Titans would tie the game in the bottom of the second when Taylor TeKolste singled, was forced out on a fielder's choice, getting Zach Tebo on at first. Freshman Trey Hair would follow with the Titans first home run of the season over the right field fence, tying the game at 2.Ralston took the lead back in the top of the third scoring one run on 3 singles and a stolen base. Neither team scored in the the fourth inning, however, the Rams would break the game open by scoring five runs in the top of the fifth inning and four runs in the top of the sixth as their bats came alive getting 10 hits including four doubles in those two innings. Jeremy Middle came on in relief of Evan in the top of the fifth, but the Rams continued to hit the ball very well.Freshman Seth Schwaninger got his first varsity pitching action coming on in relief of Jeremy and the freshman did a fine job. He finished the top of the sixth inning with his first strike-out and got the Rams out in the seventh inning.Norris did not give up and scored one run in the bottom of the fifth on a double by Ben Bentzinger and an RBI single by Jeremy Middle, but the Titans could not come back.With the win, Ralston goes to 6-8 on the season and Norris drops to 7-4 on the season and will be back in action on Thursday in the Eastern Midlands Conference tourney at Elkhorn.
