The Titan Softball Team Competes in the LPS Tourney

Norris played in the annual Lincoln Public Schools Tournament on Saturday, Aug 28 at the Doris Bair softball complex in Lincoln against some very good competition.  The Titans drew North Platte, Beatrice, and Lincoln Southeast in their pool.  In their opening game against the Lady Bulldogs of North Platte, the Norris offense was all about the long ball.  NHS had 2 doubles, a triple, and 2 home runs included in the offensive outburst of 14 hits and came away with a 10-4 victory. Kelsey Huenink and Leah Harms teamed up in the circle for the Lady Titans with Huenink earning the win.  Multiple hits came from the bats of Michaela Woodward with 3 hits (who only needed a double to hit for the cycle), Gretchen Kroese (2 singles), and Brittany Funk (home run, single, and 3 rbi's).  The Titan offense did not miss a beat by scoring in all but 2 innings and only leaving 1 runner on base for the game.
