The Norris District  congratulates Norris MS Principal Mary Jo Rupert, Region I Nebraska Middle School Principal of the Year and to Norris HS Assistant Principal Charlie Hutzler, Region I Assistant Principal of the Year.
Both of our fine colleagues received their awards and were honored last night at a ceremony at the year-end Region I meeting hosted in Milligan at the Evening With Friends reception hall and restaurant.
The awards reflect a highly selective nomination and voting process of their peers and it is a great honor to be selected.  The Middle School Principal of the Year and Assistant Principal of the Year designations reflect the consensus of their colleagues that Mr. Hutzler and Ms. Rupert exemplify the highest standards of professionalism and commitment to the profession and that their actions serve as a model for others to emulate.
Mr. Hutzler's award was presented to him by Norris HS Principal Mr. Ryan Ruhl.
Ms. Rupert's award was presented by her predecessor, former Norris MS Principal and current UNL Independent Study High School principal Mr. Barry Stark.
It is an extraordinary honor for a district to have even one of its administrators selected as a principal or assistant principal of the year, and to even be nominated is a distinction.  To have two recognized as tops in the region for all they do for Norris and the profession is an outstanding testimonial on the strength of leadership in the Norris District.
