To this point warm and dry weather has allowed the project to quickly progress. Overall the job is on schedule with where Hausmann Construction needs to be both on site status and manufacturing of critical lead time items. The next 12 weeks will be crucial in erecting the structure and moving the building toward a dried in envelope in preparation for winter.  The first precast concrete panels are rolling onto site as of July 12, 2012 and substantial concrete masonry work for safe room area (what will be the severe weather shelter-in-place area) has been accomplished, so there is a significant vertical structure appearing on the northwest campus that will become Norris Intermediate elementary school.

Recently Completed/Upcoming Items for Norris Intermediate:

• Site grading and earthwork are substantially complete.


• Building footings and foundations are complete.


• Geothermal wellfield vertical bores will be complete by 7-13-12.


• Masonry walls at storm shelter are 80% complete.


• Mason will next move to load bearing walls at ends of classroom wings.


• Precast panel production is approximately 50% complete, anticipated to be done by end of July.


• Precast panel erection underway at Gymnasium, panel erection to complete approx. Sept. 1.


• Structural steel beams and columns nearly complete in fabrication.


• Steel roof joists and decking for gymnasium area have been delivered to site.


• Balance of steel joists and decking to be delivered 7-19-12.


• New fire service main has been run up to new building.


• Outside utilities to continue with emphasis to get out existing parking lot/lawn areas before school resumes.


• Underground piping/electrical is currently underway. Deep sewer piping near kitchen is initial focus.


• Parking lot paving beginning at bus parking lot. Will then move to south visitor lot and then staff lot following last precast deliveries this fall.


• Interior slab on grade scheduled to begin 2nd half of August.


• Interior metal stud framing to begin middle of September.


• Roofing will begin middle of August, immediately following steel erection.

Design finalization is approaching for the High School west addition, with significant work expected to begin fall, 2012.
