Over twenty First State Bank employees volunteered their time on the Norris campus on Monday, August 15 to serve lunch to Norris faculty and staff on the Norris team's professional development day. The First State employees provided sandwiches, bottled water, chips and cookies to the Norris staff assembled for a teacher inservice day. 

"We are grateful to First State for their generous gift of a lunch to our staff, our teachers greatly appreciated it and the food was delicious," said Dr. Tracy, Special Education and Curriculum Director.

First State has been a longtime community partner of the Norris District, and its support of Norris activities has included scoreboard sponsorship as well as providing one of the anchor donations to make the Titans Facilities Fund project possible of installing an artificial turf field and completing a track resurfacing project for the district in the fall of 2015.

First State President Jerry Lentfer also presented Norris Superintendent John Skretta with the annual First State sponsorship contribution of $5,000 for the continued Norris Titans First State Bank "Titan Card Program." These secure Visa debit cards have the Norris Titans head featured on the card (at no program cost to the school) and can be used at ATMs, retail, phone and internet merchants. First State President Jerry Lentfer also introduced staff on hand, including a number of Norris parents and graduates who are employees of First State, and described progress on the bank's new 16,000-square-foot headquarters and full service branch due to open this fall at 2701 Grainger Parkway, which is on the east side of 27th Street, just north of Yankee Hill Road.

First State offered a number of door prizes through drawings, including gift cards and Norris Middle School teacher won Shelly Coe won a drawing for two Husker football tickets for the Illinois game.
