We want to welcome Brooke Kastanek to Norris Public Schools as the district Instructional Coach!!

Brooke and her family moved to Hickman about 3 years ago.  Brooke and her husband have two boys Jackson (6) and Cole (3).  Jackson will be a first grader this year at Norris and Cole will start preschool in Lincoln.

Brooke began her teaching career at Culler Middle School in Lincoln, teaching sixth grade Special Education. She collaborated and co-taught with the sixth-grade general education teachers in the areas of Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. After four years, Brooke moved to Irving Middle School in Lincoln where she continued to teach sixth grade Special Education. While transitioning to Irving, she decided to go back to school to obtain her master's degree in the area of Educational Leadership through Doane. This journey provided her with opportunities to grow in the areas of instruction and leadership.

Brooke has served as a member of the School Improvement Team, the data team facilitator for sixth grade Language Arts Professional Learning Community, mentor for new teachers, taught staff development classes on effective co-teaching, and was selected to participate in the instructional coaching training offered by Lincoln Public Schools. After six years of teaching sixth grade Special Education at Irving, Brooke was provided the opportunity to become the Special Education Coordinator at Irving.  So, for the past two years, she has enjoyed serving the Irving community as the Special Education Coordinator.

Brooke is excited to start her new journey at Norris and she looks forward to meeting the students, parents, and staff that I will be working with this fall as a Norris Titan!
