Our throwers and jumpers also made some nice improvements, and I am sure that it had a lot to do with the warmer temperatures. It was still pretty windy, but for the most part it was a cross wind for the runners to have to deal with. Gretchen Kroese had a great day in the hurdles, winning the 100's well ahead of the others in the finals. Makenzie Doeschot ran her best hurdle times in both the 100's and 300's, and Freshmen Makenna Tracy also ran her best performance time in the 300's. Doeschot and Tracy both came home with medals also.Senior Annelise Madison came home with 4 medals today, as did G. Kroese, Annelise's medals came from the 3200m relay, 800, 1600, and 3200m runs. She too ran her best performances this season. Natalie Nason did well in the vault, bringing home a 2nd place finish. In other field events, thrower Felicia TeKolste did well in the shot, Niki McKinstry and Leah Harms did well in the discus, Leah Burbach and Kristina Price did their bests in the triple jump, and Kinslie TeKolste and Hannah Hoefler both scored in the high jump. Vaulter Erin Bartlett brought home a 6th place finish in that event. It was a very competitive meet and it was a lot of fun watching the athletes compete against each in probably what was the best meet for most everyone this season. Our Titans will take part in the Lincoln High Reserve meet on Tuesday, April 13th starting at 2:00, and the Varsity will travel to Tecumseh on Friday the 16 for the Syracuse Invitational. Since the meet was moved to Tecumseh the start time has been changed to 2:00 in the afternoon.
