The Titan quiz bowl team had a very successful start to the season.  This semester they attended eight tournaments bringing home six first, two second, and one third place finish.  The year started off with Norris hosting a home tournament in September.  The advanced team took first and the novice team took second.  On September 27, the Titans traveled to the Literature Quiz Bowl in Seward and won first place over a very talented Gretna team.  The competition came down to a sudden-death overtime and Sam Bennie answered the question correctly for Norris.  

The group continued their successful run at an all-freshman tournament, all girl’s tournament, and a history specific quiz bowl.  The 9-10 division team also won tournaments at Nebraska Wesleyan, Omaha Bryan, and Grace University.  Many of the trophies are on display outside Joe Hornung-Scherr’s room.  The team will continue competitions next semester including hosting the EMC tournament in March and competing at districts in April.  If they team wins districts, they will get the chance to defend their state title in Hastings.
