The Norris high school quiz bowl team has started another year of competitions.  The season began at Norris on Sept. 15 as the Titans hosted the first official quiz bowl tournament of the year.  Over 20 teams from six schools competed in two categories (novice and advanced). Norris took 2nd place in the novice division and 2nd and 3rd place in the advanced division.

On Sept. 26, the Titans entered two teams in the 20th annual NELAC Literature Quiz Bowl.  The competition was held at the Seward Civic Center in Seward, NE.  Both Norris teams competed in the “large school” division. The final featured an all Titans lineup as both teams won their way through the single elimination brackets.  The final score was Norris A 145 - Norris B 110.

On the first place team were juniors Julia Stephenson, Lani Bohmont, Samantha Palermo, and Sam Bennie.  The second place team included freshman Anna Rohr and Isabella Kester, sophomore Ty Hawke, and senior Alec Colgan.

The Titans will compete again this month in both the All Girls Quiz Bowl and the History Quiz Bowl in Seward.  You can check out some of the trophies they have earned in the new trophy case west of the high school office.
