Statewide test scores released: Norris well above Nebraska averages
Norris Public Schools students scored well above the state averages at several grade levels on the Nebraska State Accountability (NeSA) assessments they took during the spring of the 2015-16 school year. The test was administered in Nebraska public schools last spring to all students in grades 3 through 8 and grade 11. The NeSA reading, math and science exams are based on the state standards and will be used for state and federal reporting.
At each grade level assessed in all three areas, reading, math and science, Norris students performed above the state average. The highest percent proficient in the area of reading occurred at both the 3rd and 5th grade where 96% of our students in those grades were proficient on the assessment.
In math, the 11th grade students performed the highest with 92% being proficient compared to the state percentage of 72% meeting the standards.
Norris students also performed well on the science assessment with each grade level assessed performing above the state average and 11th grade having the highest percent proficient with 93%.
