Wednesday, March 30, 2011
Below are the results of the Soutwest Reserve Relays which were held on Friday, March 18th at Southwest High School.  This meet is scored in relay fashion in the field events and on the track.  The jumpers and throwers who are competing in a field event have their throws and jumps added together in their event and then are placed according to the distance they obtain.  Thus placing 1st, 2nd, etc. in their event.  The relays are scored by race finish. There were 7 teams competing in the girls division, 3 of the 7 teams were varsity squads from smaller schools.  We did not receive a final team standing sheet, but Syracuse (V) won with Norris girls following for a second place finish.  Other schools participating were Southwest Silver (R), Southwest Green (R), Raymond Central (V), Wilbur-Clatonia (V), and Crete Reserves.Below are our reserve results:Discus:  6th 210'9"  Michaela Woodward 101'3', Becca VanderPutten 56'2', and Sydni Ziemke 53"4'Shot Put:  4th 79'1'.25"  Michaela Woodward 28'.25", Becca VanderPutten 26'8", and Ande Kinney 25'2"High Jump:  1st:  13'2"  Hannah Hoefler 4'6",  Andrea Jameson 4'6", and Ellie Ehman 4'2"Long Jump:  3rd 38'11.5"  Andrea Jameson 12'1", Hannah Olsen 13'2", and Ellie Ehman 13' 8.5"6400m Relay:  3rd  26:55.3  Hannah Hoedfler, Chelsi Marolf, Amber Weyers, and Ashton May800m Relay:  2nd 1:58.3  Dani Pelini, Ellie Ehman, Hannah Blythe, and Hannah Olsen240mHH Shuttle:  1st 44.9  Mackenzie Allen, Maddie Larson, Caity Bentzinger, and Kenzie Doeschot3200m Relay:  3rd 12:05  Hannah Hoefler, Amber Weyers, Ashton May, and Chelsi Marolf400m Relay: 55.7  2nd  Dani Pelini, Mackenzie Allen, Hannah Blythe, and Hannah Olsen400m LH Shuttle:  1st 1:27.1  Mackenzie Allen, Maddie Larson, Caity Bentzinger, and Kenzie DoeschotSprint Medley:  4th 2:18.9  Dani Pelini, Hannah Jochem, Caity Bentzinger, and Maddie larson1600m Relay:  3rd  4:48.1  Dani Pelini, Amber Weyers, Chelsi Marolf, and Hannah HoeflerThis was a great day for an outdoor meet.  The weather was very pleasant, especially in comparison to last years meet when we participated during a blizzard.  The girls did a good job of competing and it was a great meet to see what their strengths and weakness are in their events.  The girls showed that they had stamina and the willingness to compete, as many of them were in four events at the meet.  They also had to fill in, as some relay changes took place when an athlete had an injury and needed to be substitued.  It was nice to see their willingness help the team effort.
