Second Grade Students Visit Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City

Monday, October 8, 2018

On October 2nd and 3rd, the second graders spent their day on a field trip at Arbor Day Farm.  During their time there they were able to learn about insect body parts, bee communication, and how bees pollinate trees.  They were also able to learn about the apple sorting process and how apples get pressed into cider. Apple harvest was another topic they learned more about as well.  While walking through the forests they learned about different plants and animals that are found that call the forest their home. They had a great time exploring the tree adventure area and played on the various equipment they had as well.

During the 2nd grade year, students spend lots of time in science and social studies learning about the life cycle of a plant, insects and their body parts, as well as different habitats.
