The Norris parent partnership group with the Lancaster Prevention Coalition will meet next on January 23rd at 6:30 PM in the Norris Middle School media center. Interested parents and community members are welcome to attend this stakeholders group meeting.

December’s QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention  Training at the Hickman Community Center was in lieu of the group's December meeting. The response was such that an additional training has been  set for February 26th in the High School Media Center with a special invitation extended to local churches and other organizations in the Norris community. Again, this training takes about an hour and is free and open to all community members.

Other items on the Norris Prevention group meeting include:

    2. Youth Leadership Opportunities – Region 5 Youth Action Board
    3. Red White Tailgate
    4. June Jam
  2. Educational Opportunities for Norris

    2. Combating illicit Prescription Drug use
    3. Making parents and stakeholders aware of Marijuana Oils
  3. Building Capacity for parents, families and schools in preventing high-risk behaviors and sustaining positive behavior supports for social-emotional-mental health.

Again, that meeting is Tuesday, January 23rd, 6:30 p.m. in the Norris Middle School Media Center for our next Norris Prevention group meeting. The group is co-sponsored by Norris and the Lancaster County Prevention organization and is co-facilitated by Norris parent volunteers Brenda Mueller and Abbe Edgecombe.
