Norris Special Olympic team competes in East Central Regional Tournament

On Saturday, February 22nd our Norris Special Olympic team competed in the East Central Regional Tournament at Lincoln High School.

The Skills Team consisted of Aaron Drury, Aubrey Wagner, Ben Phillips, Cyle Niemeyer, Garrett Sage, Hannah Hopkins, Jacob Zinnecker, and Kelsi Prange. They were the only ones in their division so they placed first. They still had two games against the Southeast Silverhawks losing 91-80 and then 83-75. Jacob Zinnecker was high scorer for the day.

The 3 on 3 Team consisted of Austin TenHulzen, B.J. Gould, Christopher Spohn, and Taryn Bentzinger. They played two games against the Villa Marie Eagles, winning both games with scores of 24-8 and 20-8. Taryn was the high scorer (10 pts.) and rebounder (9) in the first game. Christopher Spohn was the high scorer (10 pts.) and rebounder (11 in the second game). “B.J. got our offense going, showing a lot of leadership, contributing his best scores ever and leading in assists,” commented Coach Larry Crippen.
