Camera crews and representatives will be coming to the Norris Elementary School on November 8th and will set up, film, and interview Miss Forsman, Miss Mallam, and Mrs. Lentfer along with some of their students.  Look for upcoming stories from local news and media sources after they visit.  These three Norris Elementary staff members are being recognized by GoNoodle+, Kohl's Cares, and Children's Hospital due to their high usage of the program.  GoNoodle is utilized by 12+ Million Kids. Currently 1 in 3 teachers along with 2 million families are utilizing the product to make movement and mindfulness an integral part of the day,

As Mrs. Lentfer said, “We have a lot of Norris teachers using this program throughout the entire district, so it’s nice to be recognized as a teacher, but it’s really a reflection of the entire district.” Accessible online, GoNoodle features dozens of "brain break" activities to reel unfocused kids back into a ready-to-learn state of mind. There is growing evidence on the direct correlation to physical activity, brain breaks,  and academic performance. The Norris School District has focused their attention on this and stressed the importance of activity within the classrooms at Norris.

“The kids love it,” states Miss Forsman. She has been using it in her classes for a long time now and really sees the benefits.  The GoNoodle+ subscriptions offer more content and many ties to educational topics within the classroom.  There are patterns, spelling, and many other activities that go well with the curriculum.  The teachers at the Norris Elementary School use the program for short brain breaks as well as transitions between classes to calm students down  As Miss Mallam stated, “As a part of my college preparations, they stressed the importance of activity and brain breaks.  The GoNoodle program has been great for accomplishing this as well as making it simple for us to utilize.”

The  GoNoodle+ product was provided to all school districts in Lancaster County by Kohl's Cares and Children's Hospital.  There are many features of the regular GoNoodle program that are offered free to schools but the benefits of the GoNoodle+ are evident with the expanded activities and the direct ties to the educational content and curriculum.
