Norris School Board reviews, releases results from Norris Voter Follow-Up Study

Tuesday, July 31, 2018

In the wake of the failed November 2017 bond election, the district conducted a voter follow-up study through MSR Group research institute out of Omaha. MSR surveyed nearly 500 Norris resident registered voters and compiled results to assist the Board and district in planning with the benefit of public insights and input.

Key findings from the voter follow-up study:

  • Voters believe the district compares favorably to other school districts.

  • Voters are likely to recommend the district to other families considering a school district.

  • Voters believe the school is a reflection of the community.

  • Voters do not support increased property taxes and do not perceive there is any reason property taxes should increase.

  • Results indicate voters’ negative sentiment about this is not limited but would (hypothetically) span any public service funded by property taxes.
