Norris Middle School Students compete at National History Bee

Norris Middle School Students compete at National History Bee

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

After qualifying through the regional competition in March, Norris soon-to-be-9th-graders Tyler Auman, Clinton Lowe, Nate Wheeler, and Ben Rathjen participated in the National History Bee in Atlanta, Georgia, June 6-8.  There were about 600 students in the individual competition and the boys finished pretty close together:  Clinton tied for 132nd, Tyler tied for 134th, Nate tied for 135th and Ben tied for 137th.  They narrowly missed making the final rounds. The team competition the next day was much the same -- they finished with a winning 4-3 record, but needed to by 5-2 to make it to finals, and again, they finished in the top half. (There were 52 teams - Norris was the only Nebraska team, and one of few from the Midwest.)  They represented Norris well, enjoyed the trip, and learned a lot!!
