Norris Intermediate students participate in UNICEF "Kid Power Bands" program

Friday, March 17, 2017

During the fourth quarter, Mrs. Kvasnicka's third-grade classroom is participating in a UNICEF program called, "Kid Power Bands." By getting active with the "UNICEF Kid Power Band" students earn points and unlock therapeutic food packets for severely malnourished children around the world. The "Kid Power Band" measures the wearer's physical activity (steps and movement) using the Band's pedometer and accelerometer. Students are super excited to get active and save lives with UNICEF Kid Power! They are getting up early to run on the treadmill, wearing them at recess, PE, sports practice, and trying to get in as much exercise as they can.
This program includes an outstanding curriculum which provides each student with a passport and learning opportunities on their missions to different countries. The curriculum was purchased through the generous funding of the 3 year PEP grant that Norris has received. We are proud to be part of this amazing program!!!
