Norris to host voter registration Wednesday, October 25th

Monday, October 23, 2017

In preparation for the Nov. 14 Norris school bond special election, the Norris High School Social Studies department with the support of the Lancaster County Election Commissioner’s Office will conduct voter registration this Wednesday October 25th, from 11:30 A.M. to 1:00 pm in the main hallway of Norris High School. Norris HS is located at  25211 South 68th St. on the Norris Schools campus. All members of the public who wish to register to vote are welcome to come out to Norris High School at that time in order to get registered to vote.

Any Nebraska resident who will be 18 on or before Nov. 7, has moved, changed his or her name, or would like to change political party affiliation, may register to vote at this time.

The volunteers staffing the voter registration table will be Norris High School seniors. “We feel this is a great means by which our students can exercise the duties of citizenship, and the value and practice of civil discourse as set forth in the Americanism statute for schools,” said High School Principal Ryan Ruhl.

Individuals may also register to vote through the mail. Forms can be downloaded at lancaster.ne.gov/election. Forms must be postmarked no later than Friday.

Voters may also register online as long as they have a Nebraska driver’s license or state identification card: nebraska.gov/apps-sos-voter-registration/.
