Wednesday, March 31, 2010

We probably had a little more depth then Crete which definitely helped us in the end. They have a lot of speed in the short races and have some very good jumpers. The wind did not aid us in having many great times in the longer races, but times looked pretty good in the short hurdles and in the sprints with the wind at their backs. We saw some terrific performances from several Freshmen today, note worthy performances were Kinslie TeKolste in the high jump, Hannah Wolzen in the 200m and 400m dashes, and Holly Schurman in the long, triple, and 100m dash. We saw our veteran throwers, jumpers, hurdlers, middle distance, and long distance athletes also provide leadership for us-these include, Seniors Annelise Madison, Abby Olsen, and Natalie Nason, Juniors: Gretchen Kroese, Leah Burbach, Meradith Ganow, Niki McKinstry, Kristina Price, and Ashley Weyers. Sophomores Felicia TeKolste, Chelsi Marolf; Freshmen Sophia Sonnenberg and Makenna Tracy also added to the scoring effort. On Thursday, April 1st we will be hosting the Titan Relays. Following our Spring break our Freshmen will travel to Fairbury for a triangular meet and on Friday, April 9th our varsity squad will be traveling to Waverly for their invitation.
