Norris Elementary Hosts Migrant Summer School Program
This summer, Norris Elementary was asked by ESU7 to host a summer school program that focused on the specific needs of migrant, English Language Learner (ELL) students. The migrant programis a federally funded program designed to meet the unique needs of all children of migratory agricultural workers by providing both supplemental educational and support services. By hosting this summer school program in addition to our regular summer school, we can focus for three weeks on the specific literacy learning needs of these students.
The students are working on their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in English through play, music, and art. Norris Elementary is excited to be a part of this program this summer.
