The Norris Foundation is a registered participant in the annual Give To Lincoln Day for 2019! Donations can now be made online and will be updated in real time on the leader board at www.givetolincoln.com on May 30. Online donations may be made starting on May 1. Gifts made between May 1 and May 30 will count toward the event, show on the leader board when the giving day begins on May 30, and be eligible for the match fund contribution from event sponsors. Please consider a gift to the Norris Foundation today via the Give To Lincoln site.

The Norris Education Foundation, the charitable supporting non-profit entity for the students and staff of the Norris School District, provides the district a margin of excellence through its programs and scholarships sponsored by the Foundation and annually awarded to Norris graduating seniors. The scholarships allow the Foundation to support Norris grads in pursuing their post-secondary aspirations while the SEED (Supporting Educational Excellence Through Donations) sponsors unique, inventive, and innovative ideas from Norris teachers to benefit out students.

Through SEED grants, donors know their dollars are directly impacting student learning and  helping our teachers remain on the cutting edge with exciting and creative instructional solutions that may not otherwise be funded through regular district budgetary means. This margin of excellence would not be possible without our donors’ commitment to helping out!

Donors can identify a Foundation donation be earmarked for the SEED fund, and become an underwriter of the next great creative classroom idea of a Norris teacher, permitting their creative classroom practices to flourish beyond the boundaries of the traditional school equipment and supplies budget. SEED grants awarded in prior years include orthoball chairs for classrooms, raised bed gardens for science, robotics STEM activities, student video news studio equipment, and audibooks for our media center.

Scholarships for Norris graduating seniors remain the major focus of the Foundation’s annual giving. The Norris Foundation annually provides thousands of dollars in post-secondary scholarships to Norris seniors, dollars that allow them to fulfill their post-secondary dreams and help the district achieve its mission of ensuring every student thrives as a productive lifelong learner.
