The Lincoln Southwest Relays were held last Thursday on a gorgeous warm and sun shining day, quite a change from two years ago when we competed in a blizzard.  This meet started the 2012 season off with many young athletes from our team competing.  Below are the team results and the individual relay results.LincolnSW-Green 114pts., Syracuse (V) 88pts., Wilber-Clatonia(V) 68pts., Norris JV 58pts., LSW-Silver 38, and Crete JV 16pts All field events are added together for their total distances/height when scoring a field event. Discus:  5th 215'9"  Bridget Bucher67'1", Ronnie Wilkinson 91'2", and Sydni Ziemke 57'6"Shot:  2nd 87'2":  Ronnie Wilkinson 28'21/2", Maddie Gloe 30'111/2", and Maddie Behrends 28'0"High Jump: 4th 4'0":  Ashlyn Hoegh 4'0", Victoria Hovis NH, Micaila Helmink NHLong Jump:  2nd 38'73/4":  Hannah Olsen 13'81/2", Ashlyn Hoegh 13'71/2", and Taylor Tebo 13'1/2"Triple Jump:  6th  Janelle Adams 29'1/2"6400m Relay;  4th 27:16.0  Payton Ruhl, Ashlyn Hoegh, Amber Weyers, and Hannah Hoefler800m Relay:  3rd 2:05.4  Hannah Olsen, Taylor Tebo, Micaila Helmink, and Janelle AdamsHH Shuttle Relay:  3rd  57.5:  Mackenzie Allen, Avery Hulse, Jordan Wardy, and Makenna Tracy3200m Relay:  4th 12:01.8  Amber Weyers, Hannah Hoefler, Ashlyn Hoegh, and Makenna Tracy400m Relay:  3rd 57.5:  Hannah Olsen, Taylor Tebo, Jordan Wardy, and Taylor TeboLH Shuttle Relay:  4th 1:27.2:  Mackenzie Allen, Payton Ruhl, Jordan Wardy, and Makenna TracySprint Medley Relay:  5th 2:23.2  Taylor Tebo, Ivy Dearmont, Hannah Olsen,a d Ashley Florer1600m Relay:  4th 4:48.7:  Janelle Adams Amber Weyers, Payton Ruhl, and Hannah HoeflerI felt like we had a pretty good starting off point today, we had many young ladies who were competing for the first time, and all the girls were all competing for the first time this season.  Since the majority of our entire team is very young, we have lots of young ladies still in the early stages of learning their events, indeed they continue to learn throughout their entire career, but this early in the season lots of issues are still being corrected.I was pleased with their willingness to compete, several of the girls were placed in 4 events, and did quite well as they competed throughout the afternoon.  Many of these girls had to take the leadership roles  in their relays and help out their new Freshmen teammates.   I look forward to our upcoming season, I think we have many promising athletes in our program and think they will do quite well as our season progresses.
