Norris:   1    3  = 4Beatrice  1   1  =  2"It was a dark and stormy. . . .Saturday morning. . ."  The Lady Titans traveled to Beatrice Saturday morning through fog and drizzle.  The start time for the game was moved ahead due to Norris' prom and weather.  It was a good thing too, as the weather got more severe during the junior varsity match and had to be called just 9 minutes into the game due to lightning.Just 8 minutes into the match senior-forward Macy Dauber started the scoring for the Titans when she broke through Beatrice's defensive line and caught their goal keeper off her line.  With a slick pitch due to heavy dew on the ground, both teams struggled to keep their footings.  In the 23rd minute, the Orangemen were awarded a corner kick, and Amanda Nutsch was able to score on her own shot from the corner.   "She had a lot of power on the ball, and it skipped right between a defender and our goal keeper," said Coach Myers.  No further scoring occured in the first half.Just 4 minutes into the 2nd half, Alicia Armstrong, shot a lofting, but hard driven ball from just inside the 18 box, and put the Orangemen up 2-1.  The Titans were determined to score.  "The girls were confident that they could beat Beatrice's defensive line.  For them, it was a matter of not shooting at the goal keeper and placing good balls in the back of the net," stated coach Janet Myers.  In the 63rd minute, freshman Cassie Dauber scored for the Titans.  Just 3 minutes later, junior Brittany Funk, who was playing as a forward for injured senior starter Kayla German, shot and scored when she got a beautifully placed ball into the box by teammate Janelle Mitchell.  The Titans went up 3-2 at this point. With just 4 minutes left in the match (76th minute), Brittany Funk took a corner kick and the ball was deflected off a Beatrice defender.  The game ended with a 4-2 score and victory for the Titans.  The Titans travel to Blair on Monday to end their regular season of play.  The Titans are now 3-8 on the season.
