The 6th ranked Lady Titans traveled to Beatrice on Saturday to face the Lady O"s.  In the end, the Lady Titans would defeat a very physical team and talented team of Orangemen 3-2.The Titans got on the board first when midfielder Alex Mathers sent a long, hard driven, lofted ball into the net at the 21st minute.  Just 2 minutes later,  Beatrice would tie the match on a low, hard driven shot by Amanda Nutsch.  The Titans outshot Beatrice 10-5 in the first half.In the second half,  senior forward Rachel Hansen was fouled in the 18 yard box and was awarded a penalty kick in the 55th minute.  Beatrice did not think twice about that and within the next minute came back and scored on a breakaway by Alicia Armstrong.  The Titans took advantage of another foul by the Orangemen, when in the 58th minute, Alex Mathers served a ball off a free kick that Rachel Hansen volleyed past Beatrice's goal keeper Abi Engler.  No further scoring occured for the last 20 minutes of the match."It was a very physical match.  It was incredible the number of fouls that were called - at least 15 by each team.  This was a good match for us to test whether we could stay composed and have a mentality to score even after being scored on.  We've had several matches this season where we haven't been scored on.  We have only given up 8 goals in 10 games." state coach Myers. The Titans have an important week of matches ahead of them.  They play Waverly on Tuesday, April 20th and highly ranked class A Lincoln Northeast on Thursday, the 22nd.  The Titans improve to 7-3 on the season.In the junior varsity match, the Titans defeated Beatrice 2-0 with scoring coming from sophomores Lacy Mueller and Jessi Mach.
