International Peacekeeper to Visit Norris

The Reverend Salam Hanna, the Director of the Relief & Rehabilitation Program for the National Evangelical Synod of Syria & Lebanon (NESSL), will visit the Norris School District as a special guest speaker on Friday, October 3rd.  He is traveling in the United States as a delegate of an international peacemaking program. Hanna possesses expertise in crisis response, disaster relief, and mediation and will address both social studies and speech communications classes in the high school.

He is an acclaimed member of the Syrian Presbyterian Disaster Assistance response team who holds a degree from Beirut, Lebanon and serves as a pastor in Latakia, Syria.  Hanna will address high school youth to describe similarities and differences in the lives of Syrian youth and youth living in the United States, as well as the current sociopolitical environment of this international hotspot.

Hanna earned his college degree in Beirut, Lebanon. He is intimately involved in disaster relief in Syria as the contact person in Syria for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. Norris High School welcomes this opportunity for cultural exchange and global studies communication with the highly regarded Salam Hanna.
