In observance of Veteran's Day, Norris Intermediate welcomed immediate family members who are current or former military to enjoy a small reception and recognition ceremony.  Each grade level also hosted veterans to speak to students and answer questions regarding their experience as service members.  This year's speakers were either parents or staff members who are currently serving or have served in the armed forces.  Students at each grade level also learned about words such as Allegiance, Sacrifice, and Patriotism, and created thank-you cards for our local veterans.  To close out the day, 5th graders along with a local 4-H club presented the Quilt of Valor to a member of the Cortland Legion, Norval Papke,  who is also a WWII veteran.
