Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman has highlighted Norris as a top-achieving district in Nebraska.  A recent media release on Tuesday, November 5 from the Governor occurred in conjunction with the release of statewide NeSA performance.  The Governor commended Nebraska schools overall for improved student performance year-to-year in helping a greater percentage of students attain proficiency on the state standards in core academic areas.

The Governor highlighted Norris as the Top Class B district in the state (tied for first) in science achievement, tied with two conference (EMC) cohort schools, Blair and Elkhorn South.  The Titans earned the Governor's silver medal with a second place finish in statewide reading results and were the fifth highest-achieving Class B district in mathematics.  With the exception of Seward, all the recognized Class B districts commended for high academic achievement were Eastern Midlands Conference Schools.
