FRESHMEN TRIANGULAR

Monday, April 9, 2012
The Freshmen Triangular Meet was held Monday, April 2nd with Fairbury hosting the annual meet between them, Norris, and Waverly.  The Lady Titan 9th graders won the meet with 119 points.  Waverly was 2nd with 41 points, and Fairbury 3rd with 29 points.Depth definitely played a factor in the scoring, as  the girls competed in all but 2 of the events at the meet, that being the 4x800m relay which we were going to run and then did not, since no one else had a team, and in the 3200m run in which no one else on the girl's side was going to compete.Individual results are as follows:Discus:  1st Ronni Wikinson 93'6", 2nd Maddie Gloe 84'4", 3rd Jordan Wardy 60'6", 4th Maddie Behrends 58'2", and 5th Ariah Jamison 57'5"High Jump:  1st Shay Brown 5'5", 3rd Micaila Helmink 4'0"Long Jump:  1st Jasey Hartman 15'0, 2nd Maddie Gabel 13'11.75"Pole Vault:  1st Melissa Trapp 6'6" and Katie Trapp 2nd 6'0"Shot:  1st Maddie Gloe 27'4.5", 2nd Maddie Behrends 26'2.5", 3rd  Ronni Wilkinson 24'1", and 4rh Ariah Jamison 19'1.5"Triple Jump:  1st Jasey Hartman 31'7.75", 2nd Janelle Adams 30'1.5"100mHH:  1st Maddie Gabel 18.6, 3rd Avery Hulse 19.6, 5th Aleida Oerter 20.6, and Jordan Wardy 21.0100m Dash:  1st Jasey Hartman 13.9, 2nd Janelle Adams 14.2, 5th Ashley Florer 15.3, and Ivy Dearmont 16.5200m Dash:  1st Janelle Adams 30.48, 3rd Shay Brown 31.3,  5th Micaila Helmink 32.5, Ashley Florer 32.7, and Ivy Dearmont 34.0400m Dash:  4th  Micaila Helmink 1;12.2300m LH:  3rd Maddie Gabel 56.6, 4th Jordan Wardy 1:01.7, Aleida Oerter 1:01.9, and Avery Hulse 1:04.3800m Run:  1st Melissa Trapp 2:56.0 and  2nd Maddie Behrends 3:19.01600m Run:  1st Katie Trapp 6:214x100m Relay: 1st  56.7  Maddie Gabel, Shay Brown, Melissa Trapp, and Janelle Adams4x400m Relay:  1st 4:39  Katie Trapp, Shay Brown, Jacey Hartman, and Melissa TrappThis meet is always a good one for the Freshmen to get to compete in during the season.  It is a meet that Freshmen compete against other Freshmen, so they don't have to worry about the older more experienced athlete.  It is also a meet in which they can try to do new events and not have to worry about how they will compete against a lot of other individuals.  Fairbury and Norris first started this meet many years ago and then Waverly asked to join and compete their young athletes, overall it has been a good experience for all the young athletes from these schools.
