Elementary raises money with Hats for Haiti

Elementary raises money with Hats for Haiti

Friday, January 29, 2010
Norris Elementary held a fund raiser for the American Red Cross on Friday January 22.  Any student or staff member who made a monetary donation in any amount was allowed to wear a school appropriate hat during the entire school day.  Each person who contributed to the fund was given a sticker that read “I support the Haiti earthquake victims!”.  The day turned out to be a great day of fun and an amazing response to help those in need.  The Norris Elementary students and staff raised an astonishing $4, 453.23!When the money was presented to the Lancaster County Chapter of the American Red Cross, they were overwhelmed.  They commented that many schools have held fund raisers for the Haiti relief but Norris Elementary had by far surpassed any amounts that any other school had raised.  They were also impressed that the money had been raised in one day.Thank you Norris Elementary students, staff and parents for demonstrating an incredible amount of caring and generosity!!!!![gallery link="file" orderby="rand"]
