I apologize for the lateness of this post, but I have had a bit of trouble getting into this site, but I have received some help and now I am ready to post.Below are the results of the Doane Invitational that was held Saturday, March 18th. Team standings are as follows: 1st Auburn 118.5 2nd Blair 70. 3rd Beatrice 68.5, 4th Crete 65, 5th NORRIS 51, 6th Waverly 19, 7th David City 9, 8th Ralston 2, and 9th D.C. West 0Individual Results:Long Jump: 4th Holly Schurman 16'3.5" and Leah Burbach 5th 15'10.25"Triple Jump: 1st Leah Burbach 34'3" and Holly Schurman 5th 31'.25"Shot Put: Felicia TeKolste 4th 31'5.25" Tori Ziemke 25'3.25"Pole Vault: Erin Bartlett 7'6" Anna Bizal 7'0"55m HH: 1st Gretchen Kroese 8.9455m Dash: 5th Gretchen Kroese 7.96 6th Holly Schurman 8.00200m Dash: Greetchen Kroese 6th 28.74 Sierra Eason 30.61400m Dash: Sierra Eason 1:10.39800m Run: Ashley Weyers 5th 2:41.97 Kelly DeBoer 6th 2:43.141600m Run: Sophia Sonnenberg 3rd 6:01.22 Meradith Ganow 6:16.853200m Run: Sophia Sonnenberg 4th 12:48.911600m Relay: 5th 4:39.42 Ashley Weyers, Kelly DeBoer, Sierra Eason, and Gretchen KroeseI felt that we had a pretty good showing from these twelve athletes, we had some good performances for our first time out this season.Seniors Gretchen Kroese and Leah Burbach won gold in their main events. Gretchen broke the 9 second barrier in the 55m highs and also came home with four medals today.Senior Ashley Weyers had a nice debut in the 800m run, as did Sophomore Sophia Sonnenberg in the 1600 and 3200m run. Freshmen Kelly DeBoer also had a good day on the track competing for the first time at the varsity level. Felisia TeKolste did a nice job of throwing, as she just returned to the team after having a successful season on Norris' basketball team.We are looking forward to the outdoor season, as we think we will have a successful season this spring.
