Board VP Grosshans elected to Legislation Committee

Sunday, July 23, 2017
Norris School Board Vice President Larry Grosshans has been elected by members of the Nebraska Association of School Boards to serve on that organization's Legislation Committee. The Legislation Committee of the Nebraska Association of School Boards (NASB) exists to formulate and advance the legislative goals and positions for the NASB member organizations.

Each of the elected or appointed seats from NASB member school boards represent various districts grouped by similar size and student population. Norris Superintendent Dr. John Skretta said the election of Grosshans to the position "reflects the respect and esteem held for Larry by fellow School Board members across different districts who appreciate Larry's knowledge, experience, and most of all his passion for public schools and helping all Nebraska students succeed."

NASB President Linda Richards had this to say about the work of the committee and Mr. Grosshans role on it: "This is an important role that school board members like Larry Grosshans' fill.  His contribution to the committee on behalf of Legislative Committee Seat #12 (Norris Public Schools) will be critical in helping our organization make sure that districts from all sizes and points of view will be a part of the Legislative agenda for NASB, and the broader education community.  I am excited to serve alongside Larry and appreciate his willingness to dedicate additional time and effort on behalf of the 1724 school board/ESU members of NASB as we continue to make Nebraska a great place to LIVE, through Leadership, Innovation, Vision and Engagement."

Mr. Grosshans has served on the Norris Board of Education since 2005 and was a Norris assistant superintendent and middle school principal during a distinguished career in educational leadership. Congratulations to Larry Grosshans on being elected to the state's Legislation Committee and serving in this important post.
