Norris: 0 1 = 1Blair: 3 2 = 5 The Lady Titan soccer team traveled to Blair, on Tuesday. This was their 3rd roadtrip in 5 days. The weather proved to be beautiful at kick off time. Blair got on the scoreboard at the 10 minute mark when forward Katie Beamer shot right on top of the 6 box. Titan goal keeper Brooke Wohlers had come out to cut her angle, but slipped in the grass on her way out. Just 10 minutes later, the Bear's Maddie Blaha was able to get by 2 Titan defenders and sent a hard strike from the top of the 18 box. Blair would score one more time before half, off a crossed ball from Emily Ellis to teammate Natalie Rech. "The first half was unusual, we had several opportunities to score and just did not find the back of the net, " stated Titan's coach Janet Myers. "We shot 15 times to their 12 shots, and came up scoreless."In the second half of play, the Titans caused an own goal in the 41st minute when there was a miscommunication between a defender and the goal keeper. The Titans turned up the defense and never gave up. In doing so, they did not take shot opportunities that they had in the first half of play. The Titans allowed the 5th goal of the match in the 78th minute of play, when Blair's Amanda Beasly finished off a crossed ball with a header. With just 19 seconds left in the match the Titans continued to battle. Junior Janelle Mitchell hit a hard driven ball from on top of the 18 box and scored the Titans only goal. The Titans drop to 3-9 on the season and will begin their play in the EMC conference tournament next week.
