The track girls closed out their season before the State Track Meet by competing in the B-3 District Meet held at Seward last Thursday, May 13th.The girls girls came home with a 5th place finish and with 6 girls qualifying for the State Meet in 8 events.  Below are the team finishes and the girls individual results.Team finishes:  Seward 97, Beatrice 81, Filmore Central 68, Fairbury 60, NORRIS 59, Crete 58, York 51, Lincoln Lutheran 22, Milford 20, Daivid City 9, and Centennial 2   It was a close meet in points.Individual results:Discus:  Niki McKinstry 5th 120-7", Felicia TeKolste 94'9", and Leah Harms 87'10"Shot Put:  Felicia TeKolste 30'2.75", Niki McKinstry 29'1.50", and Tori Ziemke 26'9.5"High Jump:  Kinslie TeKolste NH at 4'7", Hannah Hoefler NH at 4'7"Long Jump:  Holly Schurman 15'5.25"  PR, Abby Olsen 15'4.5", and Kristina Price 14'8.5"Triple Jump:  Leah Burbach STATE QUALIFIER AND NEW SCHOOL RECORD @ 35'2" 3rd, Kristina Price 31'8", and Holly Schurman NDPole Vault:  Natalie Nason NH at 8'2", Erin Bartlett NH at 8'2", and Cassie Eilers NH at 8'2"100m Dash:  Gretchen Kroese STATE QUALIFIER 4th 12.91, Holly Schurman 13.8, and Krista Baade13.9100m HH:  Gretchen Kroese STATE QUALIFIER 2nd 16.1, Makenzie Doeschot 17.6,and Maddie Larson 18.2200m Dash:  Sierra Eason PR 28.2, Elie Ehmen 28.9, and Janae Jurgena 29.3300m LH:  Gretchen Kroese:  DISTRICT CHAMPION, STATE QUALIFIER, AND NEW SCHOOL RECORD  46.8 1st, Makenna Tracy PR 50.4400m Dash:  Ashley Weyers 1:05.0, Hannah Wolzen 1:05.8, and Hannah Hoefler 1:07.4800m Run:  Annelise Madison STATE QUALIFIER, PR 3rd 2:25.4, Kelly Prange 2;41.21600m Run:  Annelise Madison STATE QUALIFIER, PR 3RD 5:32.8, Sophia Sonnenberg 5h 5:47.4, and Meradith Ganow 5:49.93200m Run:  STATE QUALIFIER, PR  2nd 12:03.5, Kelly Prange PR 12:46.1, and Chelsi Marolf4x100m Relay:  6th PR  Holly Schurman, Makenna Tracy, Krista Baade, and Gretchen Kroese4x400m Relay:  4:26.9  Ashley Weyers, Hannah Hoefler, Kristina Price, and Hannah Wolzen4x800m Relay:  STATE QUALIFIER, PR 3rd 10:05.9  Ashley Weyers, Sophia Sonnenberg, Meradith Ganow, and Annelise MadisonWhile our 4x800 got in on a wild card our 4x100 team did not.  The 4x100 tied for the 4th place position and therefore did not get in.  Our girls ran a great race and set their own personal record which was nice to see, unfortunately tying for that 4th place allowed no one to take that position at state.  Our 4x800 had figured all along that if they ran well they could get in on a wild card.  Both Seward and Filmore Central had run well ahead of us in time all season, but we new that our time would hold up as one of the best in all the districts if we ran well again.  We ran our personal best at this meet.We were very proud of our whole team, the girls competed very well.  We got the girls in that we figured would make it to state, plus two more events that we didn't really know if they would get qualified.  That was nice to see the ones we didn't plan on get in to compete next week.  We also had two new school records set, that is also nice to have happen for the athlete, both Leah and Gretchen re-set their own school records, Gretchen just broke the 300 record last week, we are hoping that both she and Leah can do even better next week at State.The girls and boys team have the early session at State this comingFriday, with all classes competing on Saturday.
