Are You Someone's Hero? Annette Woodhead Addresses Norris TeamMates Mentors

Saturday, March 9, 2019

Annette Woodhead, southern region TeamMates coordinator, shared “Be Your Mentee’s Hero” at the Norris Intermediate media center with Norris mentors and potential mentors.  HERO represents hope, efficacy, resilience, and optimism. She shared her sons Danny’s positive experience with a mentor and the importance of students to have an adult mentor who listens, helps to get through the present, looks to the future and develop goals.  TeamMates provides a weekly one-to-one mentoring experience. Everyone is going to have some setbacks along the way, it is how you work through and react with resilience that makes the difference. Having a mentor helps. Norris TeamMates provides this for about 70 students in grades 3-12.  If you would like to help contact Mary Ann Franken at the Norris Intermediate School office or go to TeamMates.org.

Annette shared this video which exemplifies the “How to Fight Through the Worst of Times” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqvFrBZS00c  This is well worth the time to listen.
