4th Grade Garden added to Elementary campus

The next time you come to the Elementary building, check out the fourth grade garden. It is located just south of the main entrance to the Elementary building. Every student in the fourth grade had to work to create this project. We cut out sod and reused it in areas where needed, hauled in a truck load of good black soil, shaped the dirt, planted, and mulched. Some of the plants include, our state flower (Goldenrod), and grass (Little Bluestem), Ivory Towers Yucca, Butterfly Bush, Knock Out Rose Bush, Autumn Fire Sedum, Purple Coneflowers, Northwind Switchgrass, and over 100 tulip bulbs. We are excited to use this garden as a learning tool, as we study some of these native plants in fourth grade, as well as enjoy its beauty. It will be fun to watch our garden grow and develop this spring! Great work 4th grade students!
