Boys finish 6th out of 12 at Waverly Invite

Despite the below comfortable temperatures and 40 miles per hour winds, the 2013 Waverly Invitational Track Meet was a success for Boys track and field members across the board. In the 110 meter hurdles, Junior A.J. Flodman took fourth place, with a time of 15.50 seconds and. A.J. Flodman also finished 15th in the boys 100 meter dash with a time of 11.89 seconds with Sophomore Blaise Eason right behind him with 16th place and finishing with 12 seconds flat. Junior Ryan Hurt then finished 13th in the boys 200 meter dash in 23.9 seconds. Moving to the 4x100 boys meter relay field event, Norris took first place, finishing with 49.49 seconds in their final heat. As the weather warmed up, Senior Nick Sullivan grabbed first place in boys high jump, jumping 6 feet 2 inches. Junior Dakota Anderson followed with a first place in boys pole vault, clearing 13 feet.. With the field events producing great results for the Norris boys, Nick Davis didn’t let them down as he finished his shot put event with a second place in finals throwing 47.5 feet. Tony Mainelli then finished discus with a throw of 131 feet and 4th place. The day might have been a long, windy one, but the Norris boys pulled through with 6th place out of the 12 teams which participated, and a total of 59.5 points.
