Titans finish second at the Waverly Holiday Tournament.

The Norris boys played South Sioux City in the first round of the Waverly tourney.  The Titans had never beaten the Cardinals, so this was a big game for Norris.  The first half was like a track meet as both teams pushed the ball up and down the floor.  Norris trailed at the half, 37 to 35.  In the third quarter, Norris was able to stiffen up their defense while continuing to shoot well.  Norris built a sevn point lead 53 to 46.  In the fourth, Norris had a 12 point lead with under five minutes to go but a few missed free-throws and a couple of turnovers, South Sioux closed the gap to four points.  Norris held off the Cardinals and went on to win by a score of 70 to 66.  The Titans had their best shooting night of the year by making 63% of the shots for the whole game.

Norris played Waverly in the Championship game the next day and what a battle it was.  Waverly played a 1-3-1 zone most of the game and the Titans played man to man.  In the first half, Waverly was able to score inside on the Titans and they were able to build a 4 point lead at the half, 27 to 23.  In the second half, the game remained close with Waverly holding a 2 to 6 point lead throughout the rest of the game.  Norris could never get over the hump and tie Waverly.  Norris would get to within 2 or 3 points and then Waverly would come right back and hit a shot.  Norris had a chance to tie the game with about 15 seconds left but the shot just missed and Waverly went on to a 56 to 52 victory.  Waverly shot 53% for the game while Norris shot 44% for the game.
